The Giant Bird

Once I acted in a stage play,

In Frinton on the coast.

I loved it all, I really did,

But what I loved the most

Was standing, waiting to go on

Until my cue was heard,

And hover with my actress friend

Who played the giant bird.

She would put her arms around me

And whisper loving things,

While I prepared to go on stage

And waited in the wings.
