The Stages of Grief in Coronavirus Times
Denial: “As if this was like Ebola! It’s just a flu! In Asia they’re overreacting, locking everything down. But I mean, here we’re gonna be ok.”
Anger: “How are they sending us home? What about my plane ticket this weekend? Fucking corona! And stop sharing fake news you bastards!”
Negotiation: “Ok, I’ll stay at home this weekend, but by next week’s concert and Easter holidays, everything will be ok, right?”
Depression: “Fuck everything. Everything cancelled. Locked down at home I’m gonna go crazy. Fucking hell.”
Acceptance: “I’m gonna stay at home and I’m gonna eat a lot and I’m gonna break my vibrator because of how much I’m going to use it.”
Ira 3. Negociación 4. Depresión 5. Aceptación
Understanding and assimilating such an exceptional situation as we are going through right now is an act of bravery and a great effort. A friend told me it’s like the different stages of grief. That made me come up with these doodles, which I think represent us all in this acceptance process.
Strength to all of you babies! Take care of each other.
